I thought the composition wasn’t as effective as it could be, so I got cropping! I much prefer this composition, it emphasises the length of the giraffe characters. I might get this printed at some point!
I’ve been working on this image the last few days, and the more I look at the more things that bug me about it, so I’ve made the decision that it’s finished!
I’ve had ideas for a new children’s book involving wild animals, so I thought I’d practice with the ones I find hardest to draw, Giraffes!
Pencil drawing and coloured on Photoshop.
I’ve been feeling a bit uninspired lately, probably because I’ve been super busy travelling about.
I decided just to sit down and draw something without thinking about it first and this was the result. It’s a little rigid, but it felt good to paint again!
Gouache, pencils and Photoshop.
These are all of the promotional materials I made. I’m really happy with how they turned out, and I’ve had lots of people want badges and bookmarks!
I also made another set of some of my other images. I think I prefer the first set I made, but these ones still have their own charm!
I want to get a few sets of these printed soon so I can keep handing them out to people!
I might even start selling personalised sets so that kids can have their name or message on a bookmark! We shall see!
I forgot that I hadn’t actually posted these on my main blog, so here we are!
I created some bookmarks by cropping my full illustrations. Part of my final university project was to create self promotional materials such as business cards etc. I also had some badges made, i’ll post them later!
They turned out really nicely! I want to get some more made soon!
A little drawing for my boyfriend, George, for his birthday. Our nicknames are the pig and the princess, so I made a pretend book cover!
Pencil Sketch and coloured digitally.
This is just a small test mermaid. I’ve got a larger image planned, but I didn’t want to rush into it. I’m a little rusty at the moment, so need to get back into the swing of things!
Sorry for the lack of updates, so much has been happening lately! I’ve been super super busy! My work was displayed at the Arts University Bournemouth, I graduated and finished university, and exhibited in London for the first time, at the Embassy Tea Gallery!! I’m heading back to London tomorrow and then I can finally rest!
I’ve been sketching on and off, but finally starting to create final images again. I’ll be working on these lovely mermaid girlies in the next few days, so stay tuned for more work!
A selection of my final images for my last project at university!
It was very tiring, but I achieved so much!
To see more, take a look at the issuu book version.
Slowly sorting out my professional practice stuff! Got some business cards now, and some other little bits on the way!
I know it’s a bit late, but happy easter everyone :)
Was feeling a bit fed up with project stuff, so decided to do something else! I bought part 2 of the Hobbit the other day, and have watched it so many times already so here is a dragon :) It’s not Smaug, but maybe it’s his second cousin?
Sorry for clogging up your dash, but as it turns out I have two prints coming out tomorrow!
